Additionally, on the same day, an amendment related to the Foreign Trade Law was published:
Article 15.- Non-tariff regulations and restrictions applicable to the export of goods, as referred to in Section III of Article 4 of this Law, may be established in the following cases: […]
VI. In situations not covered by Mexican Official Standards regarding national security, public health, phytosanitary regulations, ecology, as well as labor and social security matters, in accordance with the applicable legislation. […]
As a result of the above, authorities may restrict or regulate exports if companies fail to comply with labor or social security regulations.
