In recent days, the Congress of Mexico City (CDMX) approved a legislative initiative to amend the Federal Labor Law in order to incorporate a work-from-home modality when natural phenomena affect mobility, as well as provisions regarding employees’ right to disconnect after the end of the workday.

It is important to clarify that this initiative has not yet become law and therefore does not create any obligations for companies at this time, as it remains subject to the corresponding legislative process.

The bill has currently been forwarded to the Chamber of Deputies for further analysis and potential discussion as part of the legislative process.
